Are you up for a Dragon Boat Race in aid of the Hospice? The event is on Sunday 17th May 2015 9am-4.30pm The Challenge Central Dragon Boat Competition is a fun and exciting experience for everyone – whether you are taking part in a boat or cheering from the water’s edge. A team of ten paddle furiously to the beat of their drummer, whilst a professional helmsman makes sure each boat steers true. At first you will complete the 150m course in a series of heats, with the fastest teams progressing to the knock-out rounds of the competition. The still waters of Fairlands Valley, Stevenage in Hertfordshire are ideal for Dragon Boat Racing. All amenities are on hand and there is plenty of parking. An outdoor barbecue and refreshments are available throughout the day. You do not need any previous experience at all, only eagerness for a challenge and a willingness to pump your arms for all you are worth.
