#AreWeReadyForHer From The Land of Many Waters GUYANA!! Miss EARTH GUYANA STACY RAMCHARAN Age: 23 Height: 167 cm Measurements: 32-25-32 I’m elated to be competing in such a prestigious pageant, being presented with the opportunity to interact with the delegates of other countries, while learning of their culture and individual personalities. As this would be a great learning prospective for myself. Describe your childhood growing years: Being that I was the only girl child among two brothers one older and the other younger, I was able to be more outgoing and adventurous and trying the unexpected. What lessons did you learn from your childhood? The lesson that I would have learnt is that your Parents are always right. Allowing myself and brothers to grow with a strong moral standing and one that allowed us to pursue the education that we need and follow our dreams and to push for what we believe in and as such it molded us to be the grounded individuals we are today. Any special facts or story about your family? As a religious and close knitted family that allowed one to pursue their dreams and be grounded, we were always taking trips to other countries, learning of cultures, craft and cuisines. What is the most unusual thing you have ever done? One of the most unusual thing that I would have ever done, was to take a smoothie challenge, but this smoothie was consisted of raw fish and milk. What is your most memorable moment? The night that I was formally crowned Miss Earth Guyana, was the most memorable moment in my life. As this was the night I became not just a face for the local pageant but a role model to young girls, and an advocate for a better and cleaner Guyana. What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this? My Environmental Advocacy chosen is Recycling (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). The reason for such an advocacy “Recycling”, is that it allows one to engage the younger generation to be active participants in keeping their environment clean by using recycled products for craft projects that can be of some good use. These craft projects encourages the under privileged to put their skills and talent to a better use which can possibly benefit them later in life. What can you promote about your country? As a representative, it would be a pleasure to promote the Eco Tourism of my country, such as Iwokrama International Centre for Rainforest Conservation and Development (IIC), Guyana being a country that still has one of the highest proportions of forest cover of any country in the world. What trivia about yourself would like to share? Did I have a nickname as you were growing up? If you did, what was it and why did they call you that? The nickname that was given to me while growing up by a friend was “stacysnacks”, reason for this was because of a local snack that was named taste snacks missearth.tv/delegates.php
