Area Code Scam - beware! All, I received this from a reliable source, and wanted to pass along. Not only do you have to worry about your mobile phones but your home phones too. The scammers are at it again with a new batch of area codes. The “One Ring” scam as it is called works by robot dialers calling your cell phone and hanging up after one ring. It is human nature for people to be curious of the missed call you just receive and when you call back charges accumulate against your cell phone bill. Below I have linked a few recent articles about the scam from the news media. Please advise your people not to call back or text back any unknown numbers especially those with an unfamiliar or out of the country area code.
