Argentina Fear ‘Physical’ Nigeria -Argies’ Coach Admits Fresh Concern Argentina’s coach, Alejandro Sabella has admitted fresh concern over his team’s impending clash with Nigeria at this year’s World Cup, as the handler of La Albiceleste says he will have to find a way of curtailing the Super Eagles’ physically endowed players. Casting yet another look ahead of the June 25 clash of both teams in Porto Alegre, Brazil, which will be the fourth World Cup tie between both nations, following previous victories for Argentina against Nigeria at USA ’94, Korea/Japan 2002 and South Africa 2010, Sabella rated the Eagles as one of the strongest squads in terms of the strength of their individual players. Global football’s showpiece event is scheduled to kick off in the South American country this Thursday and two-time winners Argentina will to take on Nigeria, Iran and Bosnia-Herzegovina in Group F. Argentina will open their campaign against Bosnia at Maracana stadium on Sunday before facing Iran at Estadio Mineirao, Belo Horizonte on June 21, before the 1978 and 1986 champions face Nigeria in their final group game at Estadio Beira-Rio. Though Argentina are favourites to top the group and qualify for the next round, Sabella insists he is not taking their progress for guaranteed and went on to express fear that his side will face a very physical Nigeria and Iran. “I can’t predict the future but we are going to be playing in games where we must play well. We are going to be playing strong teams, physically very strong teams, specifically Iran and Nigeria. “Bosnia are a European team and so they also are physically a threat but have other stronger elements. We are obviously going to try our best to perform well and have the players be in their best condition,” the 59-year-old tactician told sportal.co.nz.
