Argentina are 1 CB, 1 LB & 1 GK away from a perfect squad After a successful World Cup qualifier, Argentina coach Sabella has almost finished his squad for the World Cup. He has made his final decision about the Strikers & Midfielders he is going to take to Brazil. But he didnt yet make his mind about the defense, as he expressed a little concern after the qualifier against Uruguay. The bitter loss against Uruguay could have been a blessing in disguise for the team, as that match made Sabella realize the weakness in his defense. For those who havent heard, Sabella was heard cursing the defense & GK during the Uruguay match. That match was clearly a test for a certain number of players including Federico Fernandez, Jose Basanta & Sergio Romero. And their faults made Sabella realize that he needs to change some of that before heading to the world cup: Sabella: There are two more friendlies (next month) in which well see if we need a player in a particular position to try him out. This quote of Sabella hints that he will try a new player in a certain position. Chances are high that itll either be Willy as GK, or a New CB: Otamendi/ Gonzalo Rodriguez or a new LB i.e. Lucas Orban. Injury prone Coloccini & under-performin g LB Jose Basanta could be out of the World Cup squad for good. NB: I wont even argue about Sabellas selection of Strikers & Midfielders, cause Argentinas current selection of Strikers & Midfielders are the envy of most coaches, as we have some of the best in the world. Although I agree were just 1 CB, 1 LB & 1 GK away from taking a devastating team to the world cup.
