Argentinië After World War II, in the Dutch capital, there has been practically no new building project in a traditional style. Instead we got boring modern architecture. This modern architecture has no charm to it at all. The gray new neighborhoods stand in stark contrast to the old inner-city, with its magnificent canal houses aside the lovely canals. There has been one exception to all that boring modern architecture: recently, 2 new apartment buildings were constructed near the Central Station in classic style. Named after the country of Argentine, Argentinië in Dutch, they seem to be a turning point in Dutch building construction. They show that we can go back to making the capital beautiful again.
