Arguably the biggest rock band in music today, Foo Fighters made - TopicsExpress

Arguably the biggest rock band in music today, Foo Fighters made their triumphant return last year with Sonic Highways, the bands eighth album. Eight was something of a recurring motif for the album - just one look at the cover art shows that on a visual level - as the band took to the road and recorded eight songs across eight cities throughout the United States. Lead single and opening track Something From Nothing was recorded in Chicago, and draws inspiration from the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. Musically, theres a lot of influence from the Chicago scene itself, as the album was recorded in Steve Albinis Electrical Audio studio, whilst Rolling Stone Magazine compares it to the enormous sounds of The Smashing Pumpkins. Its a powerful beginning to an album that thunders across the USA, thunderously rocking along the way. If this doesnt get you excited for their return to Australia next month, nothing will.
