Arguing with the outcome of the case or the facts thereof is missing the bigger picture - thats not really what the #Ferguson situation is about. There are many reasons why a situation like Ferguson happens. For one, as income disparities grow, minority communities are most affected, and income disparities grow, yes, with racism as a factor, but also because of things like cuts to education and social programs meant to help the already socioeconomically disadvantaged. The facts of the case, if you will, are the years of history that created the conditions necessary for an event like Ferguson to happen. Its why a single court decision is not what really mattered here, at least not when it comes to solving the problems in this country that created the necessary conditions for Ferguson to occur. The question we need to be asking, if were really interested in solving the problem, is what the variables are that create a Ferguson situation, and what we do to remedy them so that race truly isnt a factor anymore.
