Argus FX: Forex Daily Yellens testimony, China June macro data Fed Chair Yellens semiannual monetary policy testimony will be the focus of the week. Recent Fed speeches and minutes suggest that the Fed is not sufficiently concerned about the rise in inflation and asset prices. Thus, Yellens tone is unlikely to change dramatically. Data-wise, industrial production, retail sales and housing starts for June will likely remain supportive of a rebound in US growth in 2Q after the contraction in 1Q. The week will be fairly quiet in Europe in terms of data flows. June inflation out of the Eurozone and the UK will be watched for policy implications. We expect central banks in Canada and Japan to stay on hold. The Riksbanks minutes will be worth watching for insight into Sweden recent 50bps cut, while the RBAs minutes may give little information after the governors recent speech.
