Argyle 57, Black Hawk 44 SOUTH WAYNE - Argyle used a fullcourt press to speed up Black Hawk and turnovers haunted the Warriors in the Orioles 57-44 win. Argyle senior Josie Thoman scored a team-high 13 points to power the Orioles. Argyle (5-3, 3-1 Six Rivers East) raced out to a 19-10 lead in the first quarter and led by 20 points at the half. I think we executed on the front end of the press, Black Hawk coach Mike Flanagan said. We had a lot of turnovers on the back end of the press when they sped us up. Its something we are continuing to get better at. It comes down to execution. Its just getting more consistent. Argyle sophomore Kayla Butler-Paulson and senior Jenna Langmeier each scored 10 points. Black Hawk (2-5, 1-2) played with just six players since Melissa Flanagan missed her second game due to mono. Black Hawk junior Aleigha Sigafus scored 16 of her game-high 20 points in the second half. Brooke Moore added nine points and freshman Hannah Herbst chipped in eight points. Black Hawk is off until Jan. 2 when they host River Ridge. Its just the second game this season the Warriors scored 40 points or more. We need to continue to find ways to score the ball, Flanagan said. We have struggled scoring.
