Arise, others reject Ekiti delegates list A former Senate member, Ayo Arise, and other aggrieved aspirants in Ekiti North Senatorial District have rejected the results of the Ekiti ward congresses of the Peoples Democratic Party which took place on Saturday. Calling for fresh congresses at ward levels, they alleged that the list of adhoc delegates were compiled on the influence of the Governor, Ayodele Fayose. But the Governor who once again denied the allegations described the outpour as a ranting of a bad loser. Also speaking, the state’s PDP Acting Chairman , Mr. Taelolu Otitoju, who said he had not received any official complaint from Arise, advised members to forward their grievances to the Appeal Panel already set up by the party. Arise, who addressed journalists on Sunday in Oye-Ekiti on behalf of other aggrieved aspirants said the activity of the Governor might undermine the interest of the party at the 2015 general elections, if not addressed. According to him, the PDP Congress Panel led by Senator Ahmed Makarfi did not distribute electoral materials to any of the five Councils in the district. He promised to officially lodge his complaints before the PDP Congress Appeal Panel to call for the reversal of the alleged shoddily conducted Congresses. Other aggrieved aspirants, who rejected the results include a former federal lawmaker, Mr. Ale Aribisala; a former Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Mr. Patrick Ajigbolamu; a former Ikole Council boss, Mr. Wole Ayeni and Ayo Ogunsakin. Arise said, “Just like I alleged before the Congress, Governor Fayose has succeeded in forcing the wards’ Chairmen to write the lists of delegates in our district in favour of his preferred candidate, Duro Faseyi. One individual so anointed by the Governor wrote the lists in all wards. “Though, our party men decided to conduct the Congress in Ikole even when no electoral Officers turned up, including the panel from Abuja. “As I am speaking to you now, people have the impression that Governor Fayose has taken them for granted and his goodwill has reduced by over 50 percent. “It is so bad that the Governor could now be propounding a new theory that delegates were compiled based on consensus, even when he had rejected it during the governorship race. But it is better for we leaders to move away from the culture of impunity in the interest of this party.” Arise said Fayose could only be manipulating the list of who goes to the Assembly if he had the plans to mortgage the state. “It is only when you have a grandiose plan of either mortgaging the state or doing something to hurt the people, that you should be getting worried about who goes to the House of Assembly. “Impeachment is not engineered by the people in the house of assembly, it is by people outside the assembly and it is his own attitude that will determine what will happen to him,” he said. But Fayose in a reaction by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Idowu Adelusi, maintained that he did not doctor the list of adhoc delegates. “The party was equally given free hand to determine the delegates. Evidence is there to prove that the leaders decided this to avoid rancour. “The allegations by Senator Arise emanated from a sinking heart. Normally, a loser in African setting will never accept defeat but will engage in name callings in an attempt to rubbish a credible process.” ift.tt/1tw2QwA ift.tt/1qGUBZv [[Boost your social presence with NAIRALIKES nairalikes ]] #nigeria x #nairalikes #vanguardng
