Armenia Fund’s Once a Year Participation in Armenia’s - TopicsExpress

Armenia Fund’s Once a Year Participation in Armenia’s Development is NOT Enough - Participation in Armenia’s development must be a 365 day affair and not once a year donation to the Armenia Fund. - Establishing the habit of donating a few hundred dollars on average by Diaspora Armenians once a year, and not doing anything the remaining 364 days, nurtures the culture within the Disapora of being INACTIVE and PASSIVE towards the ongoing development of Armenia. - Armenia and the Diaspora must develop and nurture social, economic, cultural, scientific, educational and other projects for Armenia year around and not only one day a year. - Consuls and Ambassadors of Armenia in the Diaspora, especially in the USA have done very little to nothing for the past 23 years in the area of developing projects in Armenia. As a result a only small portion of Diaspora’s potential is being used that is so badly needed for Armenia. Having commercial attaches in a few embassies in major cities will produce fruitful results. - The $10-$25 million Armenia Fund projects represents a fraction of the millions of dollars that is being stolen and wasted by the rulers of Armenia in the form of tax evasion amounting to more than $500 million dollars, as well as millions in budgetary leaks each year. Additionally, multi-million dollar loans from foreign countries and agencies are mismanaged and mishandled, further compromising the economic stability of Armenia. - The majority of Armenia Fund projects are infrastructure projects that are the obligation of the Armenian Government and NOT the Diaspora. The Armenian Government can do 20, 40, 60 times more infrastructure development if Armenia’s rulers stop their corrupt and pocketing policies. - More than 1.5 million Armenians have left Armenia for good for the past 23 years. What are Armenia and the Diaspora doing about it? - A favorable investment climate and policies must be created, minimizing corruption and encouraging the Diaspora to directly establish business enterprises. This will help create jobs that will help stop or reduce the massive emigration from Armenia while participating directly in Armenia’s development. - To what extent has the Armenia Fund maintained and refurbished the various infrastructure projects executed by them during the past 22 years? Without considering these factors and asking these questions, the Armenia Fund will produce very limited results and therefore cannot be encouraged if we consider what CAN be done to obtain much better results. We have missed the boat for 23 years and are continuing doing so again and again. Please think about the questions above. Armenians worldwide should make decisions not because it feels good, but good results are achieved every day. I must mention that many Diaspora patriots have done tremendous job for Armenia. This must be encouraged by everyone. We have to get out from this vicious circle situation. Feel free to respond. Thanks, Harout Bronozian Watch this video about the latest Armenia Fund event:
