Armistice Day is a constant reminder that we won a war and lost a peace. ~General Omar N. Bradley While it isnt Armistice Day this quote still makes a strong point about this war. One hundred years ago Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia, witch triggered a number of alliances and pacts plunging Europe into war within weeks. Four years later the guns would lay silent and tens of millions would be dead, wounded and scarred for life. The repercussions on the world are still felt today. In honour of all this and in remembrance for family, and normal soldiers who died in this awful war I ask that you take a moment of reflective silence today as we remember this Great War one hundred years on.
