Army Air Corps Basketball Friendly Fixtures Report The first Corps - TopicsExpress

Army Air Corps Basketball Friendly Fixtures Report The first Corps basketball friendly fixtures for many years were held on 24 July 2013 at the Defence School of Transport (DST), Leconfield and were represented by one player from 2 (Trg) Regt AAC, five players from 3 Regt AAC, five players from 4 Regt AAC and one player from 9 Regt AAC. Game 1 AAC (47) versus R Signals (85) - this was a tough game for the newly formed team of players consisting of both experienced and novice players. The R Signals team is well established and the Corps players knew that they were at a disadvantage from the start; however the game was useful for gaining experience and confidence. Game 2 R Signals verses DST Leconfield Game 3 AAC (37) versus DST Leconfield (40) - using what we had learnt in game 1, we started strongly taking a five point lead in the first quarter. A bad decision was made for the second quarter resulting in the Corps been down by six at half time. Once again the team fought hard in the third quarter. The fourth quarter was a battle to take the win or go into overtime; however DST Leconfield won by three points. Well done to a team that worked hard in training and even harder during both games. Although this was two losses, for our first official Corps friendly fixtures in many years it was a good start and a platform for the team to build upon.
