Army investigators say they are aggressively pursuing all information and leads involving the tragic death of a soldiers wife. An autopsy conducted Tuesday showed Catherine Walker, 38, died from stab wounds to the torso and neck, the Medical Examiners office has classified her death as a homicide. A close friend of both Catherine and her husband Michael, who doesnt want to be named because he says there have been no arrests and no suspects have been named, says Michaels car was broken into on Monday, just five days before Catherine was found dead. Her friend says Catherine told him Michaels wallet was stolen and she was fearful of someone coming to the house. Those who live on the military property are worried. Its really scary because theres no security on base. So anybody can just come in and out. So it coulda been anybody, said Shantell Simmons-Agnew. Walkers neighbor says Army investigators were searching outside the home again on Tuesday. Soldiers were seen combing through the grass behind the house. This is a really quiet neighborhood so its kind of shocking to hear that somebody murdered somebody where I live, Simmons-Agnew said. Michael told police he found Catherines body around 6:30 Saturday morning after he got home from work. Police sources say he admitted to arguing with her the day before, but claims he did not hurt her. Catherines childhood friends in New York are shocked over the tragic news. I was just absolutely devastated, I didnt even know what to do,” said Jessica Benson. “Even as little kids, Id get grounded because I didnt clean my room…shed come over and clean my room for me just so I could go out and play. So she was just the sweetest, nicest person you could possibly meet,” Benson said. Residents who live on the property say there is rarely a guard posted at the gate and that does concern them. Catherines father, too distraught to do an interview, says he knows his son-in-law Michael is innocent and believes someone broke into their home because of the lack of security on base. Walkers parents say funeral services will be set both in Hawaii and New York
