Army orders stand-down on anti-Christian briefings October 28, 2013 Dear RANDY, armypolicyThe Pentagon has announced its putting a halt to U.S. Army briefings that label evangelicals and pro-family organizations, including the American Family Association, as domestic hate groups. Read the Armys directive here. Last week, the AFA Action Alert challenged the Armys anti-Christian training at Fort Hood, just as it did two weeks ago when a similar training session at Camp Shelby listed AFA as a domestic hate group. During a pre-deployment briefing last week at Fort Hood, soldiers were told that evangelical Christians and tea party members are a threat to the nation. Soldiers were also warned that donating to those groups could subject them to punishment under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. The Armys directive responds directly to AFAs urging that the military stop using bogus and misleading material supplied by the staunchly anti-Christian Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). As part of the directive, the Pentagon reminds base commanders that it is their personal responsibility to see that all trainers take a refresher course to insure they abide by a strict code and use only pre-approved resources in their training sessions. This means that renegade trainers are strictly prohibited from using the erroneous fabrications from the SPLC website. I want to thank you for getting personally involved to help right this wrong.
