Two corrections though: 1. The militarization of American police forces may have started in Los Angeles, California during the early to mid eighties under then police chief, Darryl Gates with their C.R.A.S.H. anti-gang units. At that time, they would use modified tanks, known as battering rams, to perform drug busts. 2. There are over 90 municipalities in the metro St. Louis Area.
