Around 5 am this morning a Consumers Energy transmission line that serves our Plains Road substation (south of Mason) went down for a short while, causing members in the area to lose service all at once. This may have lead to some members having trouble getting through right away on our outage line, 1-800-848-9333, to report the problem. We ask you to keep trying, though, to make sure your location is accurately reported to our outage management system. This helps our dispatch and line crews determine the scope of the problem, and also allows you to set up a call back once we believe power is restored. The call back is generally just a courtesy call but sometimes it helps us find individual problems once the main problem is fixed.
