Around May of 1981 my then wife and I were coming out of an extended period of bad times. Mostly brought on by financial and job related problems, but also from the stress brought into our relationship from those things. I needed some good music to listen to. One night we went to little carnival next to our apartment complex. It was not fun. We both sat in the car afterwards and I held Patti while she cried. We had just wasted $20 throwing darts at balloons and little plastic rings at coke bottles. $20 was a lot of money to us right then and we had had such a bad time of things. I dried her tears and kissed her and told her things were getting better. We decided to drive around a bit and listen to the radio. I turned it on and this song came on. It was new. I thought it was a new Paul McCartney song at first because the lead singer sounded like Paul. The words seemed to hit home for us and we found ourselves holding hands and smiling a lot at each other. Things were going to be OK. They were for another 22 years, but like Mr. Harrison said, All Things Must Pass. Im not hung up on my ex-wife. Not even close. There was too much that went down, but it doesnt mean that I dont have some good memories of the way we were. Hey, that sounds like a song title too. youtu.be/gvDwr9-MlfE
