Second Annual Chicano Studies Graduation: A special graduation ceremony for students in Mission College Chicano Studies department was held with professors While the ceremony was held for those receiving degrees in Chicano Studies, it was open to any Mission College student who wanted to participate. While Chicano Studies classes have been held at Mission College, the department was formalized only five years ago. Community organizer, Norma Ramirez and her husband Mission College EOPS (Equal Opportunity and Services) Counselor Jose Ramirez were both honored at the ceremony.
