Around this time last night Ben Stanfield and I were heading to - TopicsExpress

Around this time last night Ben Stanfield and I were heading to the ER in a ambulance. This is how it all started: Ben was out mowing yards with his brother Kevin Boyd when I came home from work. Around 6:30 I recieved a phone call from him and he had told me he had been stung by 1 yellow jacket ( in the leg) and 4 hornets.( 1 arm, 2 lower back, 1 back of head). So he wanted me to call the wellness center so I did so and they told me if he cant breath get him to the ER. So when he got home I was waiting on him at the door. Of course, he said he was alright, then he said Im getting dizzy. So I said lets just ride over to Menlo and see if the EMT are there and get them to check you out. Well we got over there and they werent their. Ben said lets just ride on up to urgent care. By the time we got to the 2nd red light in town Ben couldnt hardly hold his eyes open, blurry vision, and head was pounding. Here I go trying to not get stopped at every red light and hoping the law wouldnt pull me over for going over the speed limit. We made it to urgent care where his mom was waiting on us. I pulled up at the door and by that time he couldnt even walk or hold his head up. So Vicki Boyd went in and got the wheel chair and we got him in it. She wheeled him on in while I parked the car. By the time I got in their she had him at the window for them to get information. Well we didnt have time for that. By this time he was having breathing problems. They got him on to the back and got him a steroid shot and then he got to where he couldnt breath. They gave him a Epi pen shot and then the worst came. The ambulance was called cause he couldnt breath and was not responding. (Not going into all details here) From here the ambulance was called and the trip started to Redmond. Ben had to stay for a few hours and then we got to come home. I want to thank everyone that helped us at Urgent Care in Summerville, Redmond Hospital, EMT and all our family members that came to the hospital. SO IF YOU GET STUNG BY A HORNET DONT WASTE ANYTIME::::GET TO THE ER ASAP.
