Arrest Made in Acorn Road Shooting GREENSBORO, NC (June 20, 2014) – Jeremiah Sumner, 17, of 1319 Kingsport Road, has been charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury with Intent to Kill in connection with the shooting of 27-year-old Ryan Eugene Pressley on June 18th. Sumner turned himself in to the Greensboro Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division earlier today. Greensboro police were dispatched to Pressley’s home at 2326 Acorn Road at approximately 11:23 pm on June 18th after GM911 received a call about a shooting or stabbing. Police found Pressley outside his home with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was transported by EMS to a local hospital where he is currently in critical condition. Preliminary investigation indicates that the shooting was a result of an ongoing-dispute between the victim and Sumner. The nature of the dispute remains unclear.
