Arrived at Kelantan on my 2nd trip in 4 days sending 3 trucks of relief items to the flood victims. I am saddened with the aftermath of this horrible flood described as the most devastated in our history, while distributing the relief items at Kampung Guchil, Kuala Krai. Houses were destroyed and many were left without a home. I hardly able to imagine how these people can survive for days without water, electricity, foods and telecommunication. We should be grateful that all Malaysians are loving and caring people. They started these campaigns in aid to the victims by collecting money and relief items. Then the Selangor state government announced a sum of RM1.5mil as donation to the state of Kelantan, Pahang, Terengganu and Perak which were badly hit by the flood and not forgetting Sarawak too, on top of the RM500mil allocation announced by our PM. I believe more and more will lend their helping hands but what are the plans by the Ministry to help these victims?. We are now at the relief stage which is basically to get whatever the victims need and send it to them. What is the next stage then?. Apparently, rebuild stage is the main topic next. Most of the houses were badly damaged if not totally. Has our government come out with their plan to rebuild?. Is the allocation of RM500mil enough?. These are the queries now. Another query that I would like to mention, how many of the victims will go bankrupt following this tragedy. A good example will be that they are now force to buy new cars, start new installment whilst still need to pay the current instalments. Obviously, the most important thing now is, what can the government do to help to ease their burden. Lastly, I would like to wish all the fellow Malaysians a happy and prosperous New Year. May the bad things fade and gone with 2014. Be strong again!. 2014 may had been a bad year for us but lets pray for a better start and hopes for everyone in 2015.
