Arrived back in LA to the pouring rain and this morning to the very sad news of the passing of my friend Bobby Keys; most well known as the Rolling Stones saxophonist. Bobby and I met back in 2011 whilst working on my record together in Nashville. To say this man was a musical legend and a light in so many peoples lives is an understatement. I am so honored to have been able to work with him and my heart goes out to his family and to all whose lives he touched. So, raise a glass for Bobby tonight and crank this tune up as loud as you can, blast it into the streets and dance in rememberance of the passing of a great musician. Rest in Peace my friend. You will be sorely missed. Here are some words for the aching hearts... I cannot say, and I will not say That he is dead. He is just away. With a cheery smile, and a wave of the hand, He has wandered into an unknown land. And left us dreaming how very fair It needs must be, since he lingers there. And you—oh you, who the wildest yearn For an old-time step, and the glad return, Think of him faring on, as dear In the love of There as the love of Here. Think of him still as the same. I say, He is not dead—he is just away. youtu.be/J5e3zQn6Dr8
