Arrived in Austin around noon today. My dear friends, Arne Schonberg and Connie Bantz, met me at the airport. We visited a gallery on Austins famous 6th Street, then ate migas and fresh made tortillas at Joes Bakery and Restaurant. Now theyve welcomed me to their idyllic semi rural retreat in Georgetown. Im looking forward to the reading on Thursday at BookWoman, meeting new friends, and catching up with my pals, Henry Arrambide and Nick Rodríguez.
