Arrogance or Ignorance? I do not presume to know truth, opinion will have to do For who can say what is, what is not? Maybe all is illusion? Some trickery intended to lead, delude me toward erroneous choice What if I were blind, or close my eyes? Does that negate? Does material cease to subsist? To the deaf man dogs bark in silence, jets stealth the sky like falling leaves When I quit the room, is it still there? Are you? when youve traveled beyond my sense of time, out of mind What if its all just a dream? Some Decartian thought A matrix of fabricated reality, surreal consciousness, I think, therefore, I am a continuous mental-loop until we get it right There is a truth, an order of things – of that, Ive no doubt Though insight remains elusive, incomprehensible experienced through tarnished resources It would be nothing less than arrogance to proclaim that I see it, speak it will recognize it when revealed That my truth is the truth, your truth, the only truth I do not have that kind of power, have never alleged to I am merely a man, smarter than some, less-so than others Right or wrong I have my opinions, I do not apologize for them nor pronounce them as truth force them upon others, berate them when they do not agree They are simply the culmination of my senses, reason, experience the finite understandings of a man though passionate not a God at all Are you?
