Arsenal Hopeful of Agreeing Terms with Real Madrid for Gonzalo Higuain According to the Metro, Argentine international striker Gonzalo Higuain has agreed personal terms with Arsenal, and is now getting ever closer to completing his move. His current side, Real Madrid, are said to still be holding out on their £25M asking price, which has led to delays regarding the transfer. Higuain, 25, made 266 appearances for the La Liga runners-up, scoring 122 goals in his seven years at Madrid. His agent revealed how he expects the striker to be an Arsenal player within the next few days – citing how the Gunners are in pole position to procure his signature. Serie A giants Napoli and Juventus had previously been competing for Higuain, but no deal materialised. The 25-year old made his feelings clear about wanting out of Real Madrid this summer. Despite a prolific season of 16 goals from 28 league games, relations within the squad were severed by ex-Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho – with whom Higuain admitted a disliking for during his three years at the helm. Although the Argentine is still under contract at Real Madrid until 2016, the Spanish side have said they will honour his desire to leave should his asking price be matched. Higuain wants a new challenge, and is hoping Arsenal can agree terms with Real Madrid soon. ¤Æ.Æ.maleek¤
