Arsenal boss preparing record breaking bid Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is planning a club record bid in order to sign Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain, according to the Guardian. Arsenal have failed to replace the goals of Robin van Persie who left for Manchester United 12 months ago and so a striker is once again the main target for Wenger. Real Madrid want £25million for their main centre forward as they look to appoint a new manager to replace Jose Mourinho this week. The Spanish side are planning a double swoop for Uruguayans Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani to replace their current strikers. The Gunners however feel that £15million will be enough to sign the Argentinean this summer despite having a budget of over £50million this summer. Wenger is prepared to break the bank in order to sign Higuain who guarantees goals to a side like Arsenal who create numerous chances in every game without putting them away.
