Arsenal fans are looking up with interested faces here in the Football Transfer Tavern as it is claimed by “Metro“ that the club have told Julio Cesar he will have to take a pay cut if he wants to sign for the club. The Gunners have been after the QPR keeper for the entire summer now and a top performance at the Confederations Cup for Brazil that did Cesar noharm at all. One thing that everyone is agreed on ahead of the new season and indeed the World Cup in 2014 is that Cesar cannot play in the second tier of English football. Even his current manager Harry Redknappadmitted that. The sticking issue for the Gunners appears to be the wages Cesar would command, as the 33-year-old is currently on around £45,000 per week at money-bags QPR and Arsenal who are notorious for their wage structure will not offer more than £30,000 and have made it clear that is all they will offer the stopper. Arsene Wenger and indeed the Arsenal fans here in the tavern are getting increasingly frustrated with the length of time the deal is taking to go though and are considering offering a take it or leave it deal to Cesar in order to push it through as quickly as possible. Will Julio Cesar agree to a pay cut to join the Gunners? Let us know your thoughts below. “Emmy“
