Arsenal left Istanbul frustrated after a 0-0 draw with Beşiktaş in their UEFA Champions League play-off first leg tie. In an entertaining match, both sides had plenty of chances, but neither could put them away. The match started with Beşiktaş striker Demba Ba shooting at goal straight from the kick-off, and very nearly catching out Gunners goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny. Despite efforts at both ends, which should probably have been put away, the two teams will battle again for a spot in the group stages next week in the second leg at Emirates Stadium in London.
