Arsenal rumours 1st July – Di Maria, Florenzi and Balotelli Now that the new shirt deal with PUMA has begun, Arsenal fans are expecting to see some announcements regarding the Gunners activity in the transfer market to go with the shirt unveiling, but as usual we shall have to wait longer than we want to! Today has some interesting Arsenal rumours concerning some possible big-money signings, and the question of Mario Balotelli has again raised its ugly head. It seems his agent has confided that Super Mario should not be back in Italy, inferring that he should be back in the Premier League. Mino Raiola was quoted as saying on Rai Sport: “Winning the 2006 World Cup disguised the real problems in Italian football and today they are doing the same thing with Balotelli. “You talk about him and therefore hide the real problems. “It irritated me to see all the blame dumped on to a 23-year-old. It annoyed me and I don’t think this would have happened anywhere else in the world. “I made a mistake in bringing Mario back to Italy.” So perhaps we may yet see him at the Emirates, especially now the PUMA deal has started….. There is also some good news regarding the brilliant Angel Di Maria, who according to AS has told the club to allow him to leave this summer. AS said: “Di Maria wants to leave Real Madrid. He feels that he is a player who still isn’t valued and he has asked to be transfered,” If Wenger was going to make just one super-duper marquee signing, I wouldn’t turn my nose up at Di Maria, would you? Lastly we have the Metro reporting that Arsenal have made a bid for the Roma midfielder Alessandro Florenzi, who didn’t make the Italy squad for the World Cup, but is a very highly-rated midfielder in Serie A. They reckon that Arsene Wenger thinks he will be a future asset at Arsenal, but honestly, if Wenger was going to buy another midfielder, surely it would have been Cesc Fabregas?
