Arsenal’s vice-captain Mikel Arteta has talked to Zoo magazine where he made some interesting revelations about not only transfers, but also his teammates. Arteta is hoping the trophy drought will end this season because he understands that if it takes longer for the Gunners to win a title, it will become difficult. “I hope so! Every season is bigger than the last one because you have to challenge yourself and perform better than you did last time out. Obviously, the longer it takes to win a trophy the harder it’s going to be, but we’ll be doing everything we can, that’s for sure,” he said. Arteta is proud of how Arsenal retained all their players this summer and lost none – they lost Van Persie, Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas in corresponding summers. However, he is positive that Arsenal will make a singing. “It’s still going to happen. Not letting any big players go this summer was important and we can only get better as a group as we’ve been playing together for a few years. A lot of stuff will take place at the last minute,” said the player. He was then questioned about who takes the longest to get ready at Arsenal and the player gave an interesting reply. “Carl Jenkinson loves his hair! He gets a lot of stick, especially when he comes into training wearing his tracksuit every day. It’s like he’s still a fan! Both Bacary Sagna and Olivier Giroud look after themselves very well, too, as do Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere,” he said.
