Arsene Wenger has been branded childish by former Arsenal star Paul Merson as their public war of words continues. The former midfielder-turned-Sky Sports pundit was vocal in his criticism for the Gunners boss labelling him clueless following the 3-3 collapse against Anderlecht last week. Wenger in turn reacted angrily calling such talk a joke dismissing Merson as he had not managed at the highest level. But, speaking to the Daily Star, the 46-year-old is determined to stand his ground. I think its childish hes had a dig at me. Not interested in Paul Merson? He was begging me to stay when he offered me a new contract. I was surprised when I saw what hed said about me. It shocked me. Its weird. I respect Arsene Wenger. Hes a brilliant manager. When he first came here he was far ahead of his time. But times change, he added. I wasnt a great manager. But I dont remember drawing a game after going 3-0 up, and I never had a team full of internationals.
