Arseniy Yatsenyuk discussed with Victoria Nuland continuation of gas talks with the RF with the participation of the EC Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland on Monday, October 6. The Prime Minister discussed with the representative of the U.S. the state of implementation of Ukrainian-American agreements aimed at supporting the reform process in Ukraine. The Prime Minister expressed his conviction on the necessity of adoption by the current Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the package of anti-corruption reforms, which are submitted for consideration at tomorrows special session of the Parliament. Arseniy Yatsenyuk confirmed the strong commitment of the Ukrainian side to hold free and transparent elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and according to voting results a strong Pro-European coalition should be formed. The Government has a developed package of tax and budget reform, which would be promptly submitted to the consideration of the new Parliament, stressed the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister and the Assistant Secretary of State paid special attention to challenges to energy security. Arseniy Yatsenyuk confirmed the readiness to continue together with the European Commission negotiations with the Russian side on supply of natural gas from Russia. The Ukrainian side is ready to a mutually acceptable solution on the basis of market pricing for gas and its transit, said the Prime Minister. Arseniy Yatsenyuk also discussed with Victoria Nuland cooperation issue with the international community in providing humanitarian assistance to internally displaced persons and the population that suffers from Russia managed terrorists. The Prime Minister stressed the importance of steady implementation by the Russian Federation agreement on a ceasefire and he separately noted the key importance of regaining control over the Ukrainian-Russian state border.
