Art Classes: Description This course is organized into three parts covering the foundations of drawing and mixed media. Each lesson builds on the last and features a clear explanation accompanied by engaging artwork. It details how to start and develop a creative project. _Part 1: Drawing and mixed media The lessons start with the handmade, or find ways of incorporating it as part of the process. Easy-to-follow lessons set up to instruct you in the core techniques. You will learn how to conceive visual ideas, how to to sketch volumetric structural drawing in different line-weights, how to map-in the shapes using negative space, how to model light and shade in order to convey the 3D volume, how to manipulate tools and how to illustrate different materials and textures. _Part 2: Colour design You will learn how to extract the colour from an image, how to create colourways for a digital print on fabric or paper, how to assemble signature colour palette by sampling and remixing images and how to use the contrasts of hue, tone, saturation, complementary contrast and contrast of extension to create striking images for web and print. _Part 3: Digital printmaking You will learn how to source and remix images, how to blend them in a photomontage, how to juxtapose images and textures, and how to integrate images from different sources with unity and impact. Step-by-step online tutorials will show how to combine analogue and digital media to create a contemporary illustration for web or print output. It could be wallpaper, graphic t-shirt, table runner or a tote bag - what you will learn will open up the new avenues for the creative and industrious design enterprise.
