Art to me is like asking Mac and Cheese. I know what you’re - TopicsExpress

Art to me is like asking Mac and Cheese. I know what you’re thinking, but hear me out. Imagine, if you will, how many types of Ma and Cheese there are and how many artists there are. All artists are in some sense the bases for the art...the noodles of the Mac and Cheese. How many different types of Noodles are there?? I would say too many to count. Then the cheese part comes by preference much like the style of art comes to an artist. I personally like brie, cheddar and fiesta blend cheeses which for me represent my personal artistic interests of costuming, metals and sculpture fiber arts. Other things you put into the Mac and Cheese depend on what other things you like. It can change daily what you want on top or mixed in such as cracker top or tomatoes and broccoli. These add-ins represent the other things you try as an artist. For instance, I tried painting and drawing and liked them, however they are not my main focus. But it is nice to mix it up sometimes. All in the all the mix-ins could represent your inspirations, too. I am inspired by so many things that I could be inspired by the way the sidewalk fades to a person I pass. All in all the mix-ins make the Mac and Cheese interesting and unique. I feel that I relate most to this analogy because first: Mac and cheese is comforting, like art comforts me. Second: It is solely dependent on my taste and what I want to do with my art. Lastly: Each time you make Mac and Cheese, it is unique. I see myself as a unique artist and am growing in my talent and knowledge just like perfecting the recipe. Sometimes the Mac and Cheese doesn’t come out just right, just like my art. The way to keep going is to know that the next time I make my art or Mac and Cheese, I have the opportunity to do something different, unique, and all my own. I don’t aim to please everyone and do not try to force my art onto others because I know my Mac and Chees may not be what others want. I make my art to comfort me and to express myself. I hope to keep improving my recipe and learn as much as I can about my interests. My goal is to make the best damn Mac and Cheese I can as an artist.
