ArtBark is a festive event featuring a silent art auction to raise funds and awareness for the Animal Welfare Coalition, which operates the AWC Animal Shelter. ArtBark will be held Saturday, April 19, 2014, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the historic UWC-USA campus, in the atrium gallery of the Kluge Arts Center. The AWC took over the shelter in September 2013, and for animal lovers in San Miguel County, this was a welcomed change. For years, AWC has provided pet food, low-cost spay/neuter services, and rescue services to sick, injured, and forgotten animals. The organization brings its compassionate care to the Shelter, and while it receives some funding from the city, those dollars do not cover all of the services the AWC seeks to provide.
