Artes Association – Artes National Orchestra have the pleasure to inform you about two important opportunities that may interest your members: a new edition of the international composition competition “Florence String Quartet Call for Score” (expiring date: August the 1st, award ceremony: September the 7th) and a new edition of the international mastercalss ”Florence Composition Factory” (from September the 1st to September the 6th). FLORENCE STRING QUARTET - CALL FOR SCORE Unpublished compositions for string quartet (2 violins, viola, cello) or any combination of string quartet instruments (solo instrument, duo, trio, …). The scores will be evaluated by an international jury composed by: M° Andrea Portera (Italy), composer, president of the jury M° Kee Yong Chong (Malaysia), composer M° David Philip Hefti (Switzerland), composer and orchestra conductor M° Gian Paolo Luppi (Italy), composer M° Andrea Vitello (Italy), composer and orchestra conductor The jury will select 4 scores to be performed by Ascanio String Quartet the day September the 7th 2014 in Florence (Palazzo Medici Riccardi, Salone Luca Giordano). Prizes: - recording of the award concert and publication in cd by Sheva Collection record label - publication of the score by Sconfinarte editions - €600,00 scholarship offered by Sconfinarte editions The selected scores will be recommended for being performed during the concert season 2014/2015 of Ascanio Quartet, Toscana Classica, Artes National Orchestra. The students will also have the opportunity to write a small work for orchestra (43 elements) the best of which will be played in the final concert of 2014 Florence Conducting Masterclass by Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina, September the 6th 2014.
