ArtiCulture and Our Savior’s Housing came together in fall 2013 - TopicsExpress

ArtiCulture and Our Savior’s Housing came together in fall 2013 to create a year-long series of visual art classes for emergency shelter residents experiencing homelessness. The program was kickstarted with the support of a Partners in Arts Participation grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. Since October, instructors Abbey Kleinert and Kyra Schugt have been leading four-week session classes where participants received in-depth, high quality arts education. In this video, shot recently at the end of year two, one of the artists shares his thoughts on the program: ...The issues that youre seeing people with here... This is a spiritual thing. Bottom line. They need to get in touch with that, and this is the best way to do it. Art.
