Article 5 of the US Constitution provides us an option for amending the Constitution WITHOUT THE APPROVAL OF THE US CONGRESS. This means we can add a Term Limits Amendment for the US Congress without the Amendment going through the US Congress. Our forefathers realized that the day might come in which the Congress would evolve into an aristocracy similar to the one that they fought against for our freedom. With this in mind, they created an option in Article 5 that allows an Amendment to be presented by 2/3’s of the States. Once the presented Amendment is then ratified by ¾’s of the States, it becomes part of the US Constitution, without the involvement or approval of the US Congress. THE US CONGRESS HAS EVOLVED INTO AN ARISTOCRACY. Both parties are so entrenched and powerful that they use their wealth and influence to ensure the continuation of their careers within the US Congress by influencing the uninformed and buying elections. The only answer to the stranglehold that their Aristocracy has on our Country is to use the option that our forefathers provided and to create a grassroots effort to impose Term Limits before the strength and freedom of our nation declines any further.
