Article written by Evangelist John Hicks A couple of weeks ago I had the privilege of showing Billy Grahams My Hope DVD at the Yamhill County Gospel Rescue Mission. There were 20 present and 11 made decisions for Christ. Let me tell you about two individuals. Robert is a 60-year-old man who was on oxygen. Several people who had made commitments said that Robert needed prayer. He did not make a commitment that night, but said, I cant believe; I dont believe; how could God hear my prayer? I told him that I had faith and that he could take it and I would pray for him. We prayed and I told him that next week I would do a follow-up, and I hoped that he would attend. He did attend; when I gave the invitation, he was the first to make a commitment. Kaye Sawyer, the missions executive director, asked Robert, Last week you had no faith, but this week you had faith to make a commitment to Christ. What happened? Robert responded, All I know is that I believe and that Jesus came into my heart and I now have peace. In the days that followed, Kaye said that everyone could see a change in Roberts attitude and lifestyle. He is now off the oxygen tank. Toni made a commitment after watching the DVD. Kaye said, Before Tonis commitment to Christ she was reluctant to attend any Bible studies or even talk about the Lord. But when Kaye asked her to attend Billy Grahams DVD showing, she did. After her decision to follow Christ, everyone noticed the change in her life. The following week she attended the follow-up session, and a few days later she became very sick and died. Everyone in the mission was glad that she made a commitment to Christ. Kaye said that the My Hope DVDs were so effective in leading people to Christ that she plans on using them at least four times a year in the mission. You too can share the gospel in a non-threatening, instant way. You or your church can use these videos to lead someone to Christ. All you do is to ask any individual or group, Can I share with you what the gospel is all about and what I believe as a Christian? I have a short 29-minute DVD with Billy Graham that explains this.
