Artist Philippe Jestin works with mixed media material and keeps his creative process fluid and open to a variety of ideas and explorations. His work straddles the line between the figurative and the abstract. He works with material as well as subject matter to define new spaces and create a sense of fluidity. His most iconic work features layers of resin to create strong lines. Many of his pieces have a sculptural dimension and a decisive edge like a bas-relief. I like to think of visual fluidity, seeing and moving through accepted perception. In many instances I find it difficult to characterize my work as figurative or abstract, it is most likely going back and forth or in between... I look forward to bring the viewer to consider the flexibility within, offering different lectures and inherent potentials. - Philippe Jestin
