Artist Spotlight - LES RHINOCÉROS: Exploding onto the DC scene in 2011 with its eponymous debut, headliners Les Rhinocéros brash high-energy mix of rock, world music, noise, ambient and jazz caught the attention of music pioneer John Zorn, who signed them to his personal label. Following tours of US and Europe, the bands second release on Tzadik, 2013s Les Rhinocéros II, is garnering equally favorable press. ... Les Rhinocéros marries klezmer’s sturdy, carnival-like melodies with reggae’s slow and offbeat structures in a way that seems so natural it’s easy to picture these guys cutting Hebrew school to browse reggae tapes at a market in Kingston.
