Artist preview for the German Forum Operetta/Cabaret evening on September 24 Part 2: Olivia Delauré Olivia Delauré was born in Stuttgart, Germany. Since the age of eight Olivia took violin and piano lessons and trained in acrobatics, juggling, the aerial vertical tissue, torch-juggling as well as riding the unicycle and the penny farthing cycle. As artistic gymnast she successfully participated in several competitions on a regional, as well as on national level. From 2007 to 2011 Olivia studied “Musical performance” at the “Bayerische Theaterakademie August Everding“ in Munich and graduated with high distinction in the subjects singing, dancing and acting. During her studies she participated in the performance “Akte Romeo & Julia” as well as in Bernstein and Gershwin soirees (“Suchers Leidenschaften”). She also performed as Helena in Henry Purcell’s “the Fairy Queen” in the Prinzregenten Theatre in Munich. Besides performing in musicals Olivia is enthusiastically dedicated to operetta. She was awarded the second prize in the German national competition “Jugend musiziert” and was finalist in the Austrian respective competition M.U.T (muskialisches Unterhaltungstheater) in Klagenfurt, Austria. In the Friedrichstadtpalast Berlin Olivia succeeded in winning awards in the competition “Bundeswettbewerb Geang Berlin” (2009 special award of the Walter Kaminsky foundation; 2011 2nd prize as well as the special award for the best performance of a musical scene). 2010 and 2013 she performed as a soloist for the Bavarian Radio Orchestra presenting concerts by Paul Abraham and Leo Fall. Since 2010 Olivia has been employed as soloist at the State Operetta of Dresden and is performing in the following roles: Papagena (the Magic Flute); Minnie Fay (Hello Dolly!); Eliza (My Fair Lady), Ann/Bianca (Kiss Me, Kate), Janet Weiss (The Rocky Horror Show), Sally Bowles (Cabaret), Dorothy (The Wizard of Oz) In the next season (2013/2014) she will be also be seen on stage in the roles of Anita (Giuditta), Angela (The Firebrand of Florence), Audrey (The Little Shop of Horrors) and from July 2014 onwards as Eva Peron (Evita).
