Artist shout out. Greens fundraiser. Prahran. Auction 9 August, the Photographic Studio, Building D, Melbourne Polytechnic, St John Street, Windsor, 6PM. About the campaign The Greens campaign in Prahran is a real chance for the Greens to get the balance of power in the Lower house of Parliament in Victoria in November. Our candidate is local Councillor for the Prahran area, Sam Hibbins who is passionate about the arts and has campaigned on protecting key street art sites in Stonnington. Stonnington, now has a Register of Significant Street Art to protect these works. The Art auction will also help with the campaign to re-elect Sue Pennicuik MLC for Southern Metropolitan region (Upper house), the first MP in Victoria to defend street art and draw the ire of the Herald Sun. Organisers are willing to pick up and frame pieces, so theres minimal cost to the donating artist. Donating artists will be sent a Tax receipt for the amount that the piece sells for on the night. Artists also have the chance to set a reserve price on the item, The item can be returned if unsold on the night. We would like donating artists to provide and Artists statement and a bio to be used in the catalogue and the website.
