Artist statement: Laurent Viens has never favoured a conventional way. He neither went through a professional training in Plastic art nor has he done outstanding art exhibits or has a lavish résumé. Only does he follow a slow development on his own path. A dynamic man without pretension, he is a multidisciplinary artist. His work can be distinguished by a singular and restricted chromatic palette which is peculiar to him, by abstract lines and out of the ordinary materials. Tar, paint, metal and wood are used in paint as well as in sculpture. They express passion without any compromise.
