Arts of Performance 2) Fashion Frenzy’14 Themes: 1) OFF TO SCHOOL: Our dislike for our school uniforms is quite evident from our continuous effort to make our uniforms attractive and likeable by trying to make as many amendments in our uniforms as many possible. However, our creativity is still restricted to a greater extent. This is the theme where you get to design your own school uniforms. Designers are to come up with the most fashionable attire for students. Amount of makeup, hairdo, footwear and accessories, everything should be used and done in a way that nothing seems exaggerated and the decency is still intact. 2) Getting married: At least for once, we all have wondered how we are going to dress up on our wedding day, where every girl dreams to be the most beautiful bride, boys too wish to be the best looking groom and take all the possible measures in order to do so. This theme allows you to unleash all the creativity that resides inside of you and come up with the most stunning wedding outfit. Shararas or lehengas adorned with beautiful embroidery along with heavy jewellery and heavy makeup is ideal for eastern brides whilst, sherwanis and turbans are worn by eastern grooms. Whereas, beautiful white gowns with long chiffon/silk veils are worn by brides of west whilst tuxedos are ideal for western grooms. Go eastern, go western or maybe produce a fusion of both. The choice is yours. But it has to be absolutely stunning. 3) Halloween: Ghosts, Witches, and Zombies, oh my! Be on the lookout for bats and broomsticks that fly! This theme allows participants to impersonate ANY of their favourite fictional or non-fictional characters. Superman, joker, batman, James Bond, Sherlock Holmes, iron man, Aladdin, Snow White, vampire, fairies, are a few examples of fictional characters, whilst Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Marilyn Monroe, Lady Diana, Adolf Hitler are the examples of non-fictional characters. This theme provides participants with extra incentive to be really innovative and creative. 4) RETRO BOLLYWOOD: Retro fashion is basically the style that was prevalent in the 1970s. This style has elements of hippie or Bohemian fashion. Bollywood celebrities retro clothes have always clicked Bollywood fashion in 1950s-60s created a benchmark for the coming years. Fashion changed drastically with constant experiments. Bellbottoms paired with big glares was one of the most prominent and long lasting trends of 1970s. Wearing floral motifs that were very reminiscent in the 70s era. In fact, some simple accessories like ribbon hair bands or usage of different styles of wigs also completes the retro look. Rules and regulations Each Institution can send a maximum of 2 teams. Each team can consist of a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 6 members. Each Team may consist of 4 male/female models and one designer (which is a must). A team may choose to bring along only 1 makeup artists/prop manager (The make-up artist and the prop manager is the same person - not two different people). Each team is required to submit ONE portfolio. The portfolio must state the names of the participants, age, gender and height of the models as well as their contact info (school name & branch name, email addresses and cell phone numbers). Each team will be given 3-4 minutes to display their work. Team must refrain from displaying any vulgarity through/in their designs. Dressing rooms and green rooms will be provided by the management of Fashion Frenzy’14.
