As 2014 comes to a close. Its important to remember our small victories. Many housing estates are still meter free. The government was forced into humiliating u turns concerning Irish water. People power worked. Its important to remember this time last year many of us had never met. A positive outcome of this battle is the coming together of communities. The forging of friendships and all of us standing together united. 2014 was the birth of the resistance to this government and Irish water. We had a lot to learn and achieved much during a period of huge upheaval. We had a huge learning curve and boy have we learned. We only have each other. We are only as strong as a united group. We know our politicians, our media our judiciary have let us down. In fact deep down we knew they always would. They are lobbied by big business, by bankers. By developers. By vested interests and we know they are all connected working hand in glove together to protect their status quo. However 2015 will be our year. We have learned hard lessons. We have organised. We know that victory depends only on us and how we stand and work together. Perhaps now the thin veil has been pulled away from this sham democracy more people will wake up and join the fight Make no mistake fight we will, together we will build on our campaign of non payment. We will continue to resist water meters in our estates. We will seek out and find new representatives for our communities. We will attack this government and its policies every chance we get. We will inform more people grow our movement and we will win. 2015 is our year it will be a memorable one. Lets work harder together for our future. Heres to 2015 let the battle lines be drawn. Let us all choose just which side we are on. Let us not be divided or distracted from our goal by petty people who would seek to split us. Lets stand together united.
