As California contends with its worst drought level in a century, - TopicsExpress

As California contends with its worst drought level in a century, residents are feeling its impact in areas ranging from the economy to daily water usage. California’s current drought has been documented as the driest period in the state’s recorded rainfall history. Through studies of tree rings, sediment and other natural evidence, researchers have documented multiple droughts in California that lasted 10 or 20 years in a row during the past 1,000 years. Dry conditions are unlikely to go away. Researchers expect next year to be another drought year for California, even if a change in El Niño conditions brings some much-needed rain to the state. Californias drought, now in its third year, is expected to worsen due to record high temperatures and a shrinking snowpack in the states mountains. Nearly 80 percent of the state is now in what scientists call extreme or exceptional drought, which has caused the state water control board to call for mandatory water restrictions in urban areas. It has already begun in Santa Barbara county, Ventura county is next, and possibly LA county. As a result, what we are now observing in our gardens is trees and plants in various stages of distress. Keeping all of this in mind, Campion Walker would like to propose that we visit your garden for an overview assessment to see how it is holding up under this continued stress. We would like to document, photograph, provide a detailed report and make recommendations so that we are well prepared to work with you to ensure that your garden continues to thrive. Please contact me for additional information, scheduling and fees. Thank you for your consideration, Arezoo
