As Christians we are to be Christ-like as in walk and talk and do - TopicsExpress

As Christians we are to be Christ-like as in walk and talk and do the things that Jesus did, and He even said, greater things. SO, forgiveness. Lets look at two instances involving Jesus. Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss, ultimately leading him into the hands of those that would kill him and Peter denied Jesus not once but three times. These two guys werent just two anybodys off the street, they were Jesuss closest friends, and in a sense his family. Jesus knew that these men would do the things they did, He prophesied it, even to them. Im sure Jesus was hurt deeply by their actions, but did that change how Jesus treated them? Did Jesus break fellowship with them? Did he stop loving them? Did he get angry with them? I have found myself at many times justifying my anger or unforgiveness towards someone because, They are Christians, they should know better. But think about that, WE are also Christians...shouldnt WE know better? Shouldnt WE be MORE willing to forgive our brothers and sisters in Christ? Jesus said that people will know us by our love for one another. If people are going to want to follow Jesus, they need to see Jesus in the way we interact with each other. So today, I challenge you to think about the relationships you have with those within the body. Is there someone you may need to forgive? Is there someone you have forgiven, but you have broken fellowship with? Is there someone you have been avoiding in the seat across the aisle? Let today be the day that you work towards forgiveness, reconciliation, AND restoration. It may not be easy, but it will be worth it.
